buy a scarf, educate a girl
This Wednesday we're crushin' on Malala Yousafzai for obvious reasons. In case you have yet to hear about the lady who is taking the world by storm, we'll give you the 411. Yousafzai is a fellow advocate for female education from Pakistan. In 2009 she began standing up for women's right to education online. She was later interviewed by the New York Times. In 2012 her life took a scary turn and Yousafzai was shot in the head by a member of the Taliban. She recovered and in October of 2013 Yousafzai published a memoir about her journey.
Malala Yousafzai has received the Nobel Peace Prize and was the youngest person ever to do so. Recently she took part in a wonderful interview with Emma Watson where she identified herself as a feminist. Watch the full interview here.
