Happy you've-got-a-case-of-the-Mondays! Here's a formula to make your Monday marvelous.
Step 1: Cross something off that to-do list.
People say the hardest part is getting started, so just get started! Do something small like make a phone call or start the laundry. Crossing something small off the list can jump start your day, and if you really want to go all out start with the most time consuming task. This will give you the confidence boost you need to get everything done.
Step 2: Put down the phone! Yes, I promise Twitter can wait.
Just try it. Turn it off for at least thirty minutes and you might find that you're thinking more clearly. A great time to do this is right before bed. Pull out a book and let it lull you into a dream state. We recommended a few good ones here.
Step 3: Get some sunshine.
Get up from the desk and go for a stroll! Soak up some Vitamin D, which can strengthen your immune system and keep you from catching that cold going around the office. Here's to a lot of healthy Mondays.
Step 4: Examine your breathing.
Long deep breaths make us calm and centered. I don't know about you, but Mondays don't always tick those boxes for me. Check in with yourself and make sure you aren't doing anything to fuel stress.
Step 5: Brighten someone else's Monday with a small act of kindness.
Or go all out and throw it around like confetti. Hold the door. Buy a friend a cup of coffee. Do someone a favor. Send some snail mail. The options are endless.
